Last Minute Sailing: 24 Virgin Voyages Cruises Departing Within 90 Days
⏰ CABINS ARE FILLING FAST
24 sailings • 4 ships • December 2025 through February 2026
Wave 2026 pricing available through January 29—lock it in before it is gone
Here is the situation: I have got 24 Virgin Voyages sailings departing between December 2025 and early March 2026, and cabins are moving. Some of these are super last minute. Others give you a few weeks to plan. All of them still have space—but that is changing daily.
If you have been waiting for the “right time” to book a Virgin Voyages cruise, this is your window. These are not theoretical future vacations. These are real ships, with real departure dates, sailing to the Caribbean while you are still thinking about it.
Why These Last-Minute Sailings Make Sense Right Now
Normally, last-minute cruise booking is a gamble. Prices can spike when inventory gets tight. But here is what is different about these 24 sailings:
Wave 2026 is still active through January 29. That means you can book a sailing departing in days and still get 80% off the second sailor (effectively 40% off both fares) plus a complimentary Bar Tab up to $400. After January 29? Those promotional perks disappear. The closer you get to that deadline, the more urgent this becomes.
The math is simple: book a last-minute sailing before January 29 and you get promotional pricing on top of whatever cabin deals exist. Wait until after? You’re paying full rate on whatever’s left.

Essential vs. Premium Fare: What You Actually Need
Before diving into specific sailings, let us clear up one of the most common booking questions. Virgin Voyages offers three fare types: Essentials (base), Essential, and Premium. We recommend skipping the base Essentials fare entirely—the restrictions are not worth the minimal savings. That leaves you choosing between Essential and Premium.
Here’s our guidance based on when your sailing departs:
For Sailings Within 45 Days: Essential Is Usually Enough
If you are booking a last-minute sailing departing in the next six weeks, there is typically no need for Premium. Most dining reservations are already locked in by other sailors, so you will not benefit much from “early access.” The perks that matter most (Bar Tab credit, WiFi upgrades) can be added individually if you want them.
Our recommendation: Book Essential fare and add premium WiFi as a separate purchase if you need faster connectivity for work or streaming. You’ll pay less overall than upgrading to Premium.
For Sailings 45+ Days Out: Consider Premium
If your sailing is more than 45 days away, Premium fare starts to make sense—especially if any of these apply to you:
| PREMIUM FARE BENEFITS | WHY IT MATTERS |
|---|---|
| Early Dining Reservations | “Beat the rush” and lock in your preferred restaurants and times before Essential fare sailors can book |
| Premium WiFi Included | Faster speeds for streaming, video calls, and remote work—no need to purchase separately |
| $15/Sailor/Night Bar Tab Credit | Stacks with Wave 2026 promotional Bar Tab—that is additional credit toward drinks |
| Primary Sailor Flexibility | Change the primary sailor on the booking up to 48 hours before departure (Essential only allows changing the second sailor) |
That last point is worth highlighting: With Essential fare, only the second sailor can be changed before sailing. If there is any chance the primary person on your booking might need to be swapped out, Premium gives you that flexibility up to 48 hours before departure.
A Note on Gratuities: Handle It at Checkout
Virgin Voyages itemizes gratuities separately from the cruise fare—this is actually a good thing for transparency. Here’s what you need to know:
💰 Our Recommendation: Prepay at Checkout Prepay at checkout: $20 per sailor per night Pay onboard: $22 per sailor per night Adding gratuities during booking is easier, saves you $2/night per person, and means you will not need to think about tipping anyone onboard—it is all taken care of. No additional tips expected or needed anywhere on the ship. |
December 2025: Super Last Minute Sailings
These December sailings are the most urgent options on this list. If you can pack a bag and get to Miami quickly, you could be in the Caribbean before the month is out.
