Is a Virgin Voyages RockStar Suite Worth It? (2026)
Current as of September 13, 2026 · By Cameron DeJong · CamJon Travel
Is a RockStar suite worth it?
Sometimes. The baseline Virgin Voyages product already includes 20+ eateries, essential drinks, group fitness, and entertainment. A suite does not buy you better restaurants. It buys space, a RockStar Agent, Richard’s Rooftop, and (at Mega) a different drinks-and-spa week. See what is already in the fare.
We are not going to publish a $2,500 or $4,000 “typical upgrade.” That gap moves by ship, dates, and fare. CamJon Travel will price the Sea Terrace vs RockStar vs Mega on your sailing.
What do you actually get?
Yes and No. No invented perk-dollar column. Confirm drink limits and port transfer language on the booking.
| Perk | Sea Terrace | RockStar | Mega RockStar |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dining reservations | By fare (15 / 45 / 60) | 120 days | 120 days |
| Richard’s Rooftop | No | Yes | Yes |
| RockStar Agent | No | Yes | Yes |
| In-room bar | No | First stocking | Bottomless (official) |
| Ship-wide included drinks | No | No | Yes: official drinks FAQ, up to $25 per drink and two bottles of wine per cabin per day up to $90; confirm on folio |
| Thermal Suite | Extra | Extra | Yes |
| Wi-Fi | By fare | Classic, 1 device per Sailor | Work from Sea, two devices per Sailor |
| Parking / transfer | Extra | Extra | Official Mega language includes complimentary Terminal V parking; confirm port |
| Daily laundry | Extra | Extra | Confirm on the booking |
Mega RockStar Quarters on official Virgin Voyages pages include Massive, Fab, Posh, and Gorgeous. RockStar is the entry suite tier (including Seriously and Cheeky Corner). Side-by-side rooms: RockStar vs Mega RockStar.
Who should book which?
- Book RockStar if you want the bigger cabin, the agent, and Richard’s Rooftop, and you will actually sit there. Special occasions and sea-day-heavy itineraries.
- Book Mega if you will use ship-wide drinks, Thermal, and Work from Sea. That is the only tier that can change the drinks math. Confirm today’s drink rules on the folio before you call it “unlimited.”
- Stay Sea Terrace if you are off the ship most days, you drink light, or the suite gap would squeeze the trip. Food and shows are already included. Cabin home base: cabin selection guide.
Dining and Wi-Fi (the two facts pages get wrong)
RockStar and Mega book dining at 120 days, not 60. Sixty is Premium. Essential is 45. Base and Lock It In are 15. Matrix: VoyageFair fare types.
Mega Wi-Fi is Work from Sea (two devices per Sailor). That is not Premium-fare Wi-Fi. Do not rename Premium Wi-Fi to Work from Sea. Device map: Virgin Voyages Wi-Fi plans.
Daily service gratuities still apply in suites: about $20 prepaid or about $22 onboard from October 7, 2025. Same published rate. No extra drink tip once that line is covered. Tipping after VoyageFair.
When Level Upgrade is the smarter path
If the published suite gap is steep and you can live with a Sea Terrace, a Level Upgrade bid can be the way to test RockStar without paying the rack jump. Massive Suite is not excluded from the program despite some public FAQ wording. Do not publish a blanket Massive exclusion. Bid only what the gap is worth to you; CamJon Travel will walk the live inventory.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a Virgin Voyages RockStar suite worth it?
Yes if you will use the larger cabin, Richard’s Rooftop, a RockStar Agent, and the 120-day dining window. It is a lifestyle upgrade, not a cheaper fare. Ask CamJon Travel to price your sailing.
What is the difference between RockStar and Mega RockStar?
Both get Richard’s Rooftop, a RockStar Agent, and 120-day dining. Mega adds Work from Sea Wi-Fi, Thermal Suite access, a bottomless in-room bar, and ship-wide premium drinks under current suite rules (official drinks FAQ: up to $25 per drink; two bottles of wine per cabin per day up to $90). Confirm on the folio.
Should I stay in a Sea Terrace instead?
Usually yes if you are port-heavy, a light drinker, or the suite gap would squeeze the trip. Dining and shows are already included for every Sailor.
When can RockStars make dining reservations?
RockStar and Mega RockStar book dining at 120 days. Premium is 60, Essential is 45, Base and Lock It In are 15.
Want Sea Terrace vs RockStar vs Mega priced on your dates?
CamJon Travel will run the live gap, dining window, and Wi-Fi map for your sailing. No extra fee to the Sailor.
