What Is Scarlet Night on Virgin Voyages? (2026 Theme Nights Guide)
Current as of September 14, 2026 · By Cameron DeJong · CamJon Travel
What is Scarlet Night?
Scarlet Night is the Sailor event people mean when they say Virgin Voyages has a signature party. Official Ahoy language calls it a full-ship activation: pop-ups, flash mobs, secret bars, karaoke, shadow performances, pool parties, and high-energy beats. It is immersive theatre and nightlife at once, not a formal night or a ticketed show.
Creative roots official VV names: collaboration with Randy Weiner (Sleep No More) and nightlife concepts at The Manor. You do not need that backstory to enjoy it. Follow the Happenings Cast and the Sailor App.
Is there a Scarlet Night dress code?
No enforced code. Official Virgin Voyages FAQ: Keep it Red is encouraged, whether head-to-toe or a subtle splash, and there are no dress-code rules. A Glam Station often helps Sailors go red. Pack something scarlet if you want to play along. Showing up in black will not get you turned away.
| Item | Needed? | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Something red | Encouraged | Outfit, shoes, lipstick, or a splash |
| Formalwear | No | Not a black-tie night |
| Comfortable shoes | Yes | Decks 6 and 7, then often the pool |
| Glam Station | Optional | Official pop-up help going red |
When does Scarlet Night happen?
It is on every sailing, once per voyage. The night of the voyage is not fixed on official pages. Confirm in the Sailor App under Discover > Lineup.
Official Ahoy typical flow (voyage-variable):
- Myth storytelling around 8 PM at the Roundabout
- Opening around 9 PM at the Roundabout (toast / theme song)
- Activations on Decks 6 and 7
- Octopus Garden in the Red Room
- Pool party on Deck 15 (weather pending)
- After party at The Manor
We are not publishing a Caribbean-blog 10:00 to 10:30 PM start, fire dancers, or aerial acts as standing official features. Those are not on the official Scarlet pages we checked.
What about PJ Party?
PJ Party is the other official theme event Virgin Voyages names alongside Scarlet Night. Official entertainment pages: the dress code is comfort. Cozy PJs, zany PJs, and onesies are welcome. It often lands early in the voyage, but treat time and location as app-confirmed, not a guarantee.
Other ship parties (80s nights, Studio 72, We Fancy, and so on) rotate by hull and Lineup. Treat them as examples, not a permanent fleet calendar.
Drinks during Scarlet are still Bar Tab or pay as you go. There is no unlimited drinks package. See the Bar Tab explainer. For gratuities and fare inclusions, start with is Virgin Voyages all inclusive.
