Hi, Cameron here. Sarah asked me to look after the cruise side of her 40th so she can just turn up and celebrate, which suits me fine. Below you will find the cabins, the fares I would actually pick, and a booking link that takes you straight to checkout with your choices already made. Stuck on anything? Ask me. How to join Sarah
Three steps, and the booking part takes about five minutes.
- Choose a cabin type and a fare. The sections below explain both in plain English, and I tell you which ones I recommend.
- Book it yourself with your own link. The form further down this page builds your Virgin Voyages link with your cabin, your fare and prepaid gratuities already loaded, so your selections carry into the booking link. - Tell me you are booked. Then I go to work on your cabin location and your dining requests.
I also connect everyone’s bookings. Your reservation is your own, in your name, paid by you. Linking them behind the scenes is what lets me put in the dining requests for the group, ask for cabins near each other, and look after everyone as one party.
Which cabin fits you
They are all on the same ship, the same nights, the same ports, and the same group. The difference is the room.
- Sea Terrace. Your own private balcony with the red hammock. This is where I start most people.
- Central Sea Terrace. The same balcony cabin, positioned more centrally on the ship. Many Sailors find the middle of a ship steadier, and it is a shorter walk to everything.
- Sea View. An ocean view through a window, without a balcony.
- Insider. A comfortable interior cabin with no window. The lowest cost way into the celebration, and you are in exactly the same party as everyone else.
- Rockstar Quarters. The suites: Seriously Suite, Cheeky Corner Suite, Brilliant Suite and Sweet Aft Suite. Dining opens at 120 days, the earliest of anyone on board, and a Rockstar Agent looks after you on the ship. All four are in the form and the quick links below. Mega Rockstar Quarters (Gorgeous, Posh, Fab or Massive) are by email.
Which fare fits you
Virgin sells the same cabin at different fares. This is where people get tripped up, so here is my honest ranking.
Premium is the very best choice for this trip
It opens dining at 60 days instead of 45, which is a big deal for a group this size, and a Premium Sailor can book dinner for up to eight Sailors. You also get Premium WiFi on two devices, a Bar Tab to use during the voyage, your cabin locked in, and the most flexibility if plans change. If you do one thing on this page, choose Premium. It is the fare I would book for my own family on this sailing.
Essential is a genuinely good choice
Dining opens at 45 days, your chosen cabin is locked in and can be changed, sailing dates can move under the standard rules, fellow Sailor names can change up to 48 hours before, and, depending on timing, a future voyage credit if you have to cancel. The windows are in the payment section below. Most people will be very happy here, especially if someone else in the group is on Premium and leads the dinner booking.
If the fare for your cabin comes down more than 120 days before the sailing, the difference is credited against your remaining balance, or refunded to you if you have already paid in full. Between 120 and 46 days, the difference comes back as onboard Sailor Loot. At 45 days or fewer, prices are locked and no adjustments are made. Rockstar Quarters get this too. Lock It In gets none of it.
The one fare I steer people away from
I will book this one for you if you really want it. I will not pretend it is a good idea, and I will not book it without walking you through it first and getting a signed acknowledgment. That is not a formality. It is because this fare removes the things I would normally use to fix a problem for you.
Lock It In: a real gamble on a group trip
Lock It In is Virgin’s guarantee fare. You pick a category and a price, and Virgin picks your cabin. On a celebration where the whole point is being together, that is the problem:
- Virgin chooses your cabin and may not tell you until days before sailing, or even on boarding day.
- You could be on a completely different deck from the rest of the group, and I cannot move you. Once assigned, it cannot be changed, not for noise, not for the view, not by paying more.
- You are guaranteed only the lowest tier of that category. An upgrade is possible but should never be expected.
- The voyage fare is nonrefundable, with no grace period, no name changes, no date changes and no future voyage credit. Taxes and fees are refundable if you cancel.
- No later price drops, and it cannot be combined with the pay-in-full discount. It is also the one fare where I cannot add the $50 Sailor Loot.
- Basic WiFi and a 15 day dining window, though a Premium Sailor can still include you in their dinner reservation at 60 days.
If you still want it, I will book it, and here is the acknowledgment we will go through together first. It exists so nothing about this fare is a surprise later.
Eating dinner together
This is the part people forget about until it is late, and it is the best reason to pay attention to your fare.
The rule I recommend: one Premium cabin for every eight Sailors.
A Premium Sailor becomes a dining “lead”. At the 60 day mark, that lead can book a dinner reservation for their whole party of up to eight, including companions on Essential or Lock It In fares. Only the lead cabin needs Premium.
So: 8 Sailors means 1 Premium cabin. 16 Sailors means 2. 24 means 3. Sarah is on Premium, so the first lead is already covered. Rockstar Quarters get in even earlier, at 120 days.
The group’s 60 day dining window opens July 25, 2027. Tell me who you would like to sit with and I will help coordinate the reservation attempts and the requests for nearby tables. Exact table sizes, times and seating always depend on the restaurant and what is available on the night, so I cannot promise a specific table, only that I will work it properly.
Paying for it, and what happens if plans change
The deposit and the balance
- The usual structure is 20% of the voyage fare as a deposit, with the balance due May 26, 2027.
- Checkout confirms the exact amount due at booking, including any separately payable extras such as prepaid gratuities.
- If you would rather spread it out, Flex Pay by Upgrade is offered at checkout. Virgin currently advertises 12 month financing at 0% APR for eligible bookings made 365 or more days ahead. Approval is required, and you should read the actual APR, down payment and total repayment before accepting. Financing does not change any of the cancellation rules below.
Cancelling on Essential or Premium: what actually happens
- Booking this far ahead, your deposit has a seven day refund window from the time you book.
- After that window, while you are still more than 120 days from sailing, the deposit becomes a future voyage credit rather than cash back. Other voyage fare payments you have made can be refunded.
- Closer to sailing, tighter restrictions apply and more of the fare becomes nonrefundable.
This is why I keep saying travel protection is worth pricing out, especially for a trip this far ahead. What it covers depends on the policy and the reason for the claim, and I am glad to talk it through.
Cancelling on Lock It In: what actually happens
The voyage fare is nonrefundable from the moment you book. No grace period, no future voyage credit, no date change, no name change. Taxes and fees are refundable if you cancel.
That is the trade you are making for the lower price, and it is the main reason I ask for a signed acknowledgment before booking it.
If the price drops after you book
For eligible Essential and Premium reservations, if the fare for your cabin comes down while you are more than 120 days out, the difference is credited against your remaining balance, or refunded if you have already paid in full. From 120 days down to 46 days before the sailing, the difference comes back as onboard Sailor Loot rather than cash. At 45 days or fewer, prices are locked and nothing changes. Tell me before you ask Virgin for anything, so I can confirm the adjustment and check it does not affect your benefits.
I compare both the price and the benefits before changing anything, because a cheaper fare with worse terms is not a win. This does not apply to Lock It In at all. That fare is excluded from repricing, which is one more reason I steer people away from it.

I watch your cabin location, your dining, your price, and anything that changes between now and September 2027. If something goes sideways, you have a person to call.
You do not need to figure everything out today. Choosing your cabin and fare is the only decision that matters right now. Excursions, dining, drinks, spa, flights and hotels all come later, and I will walk everyone through them at the right time.
A taste of what Sarah is planning
None of this is booked or included yet. These are the ideas Sarah and I are exploring, and I will bring proper details and prices closer to sailing.
- Dinners together. The centerpiece. Coordinated reservations so the group actually eats as a group.
- Key West. Easy to explore on foot, and a great afternoon whether you want history, the water, or a bar with a view.
- Bimini. The Beach Club is included with your voyage. Radio Beach is a possible optional outing, and Sarah and I would sort transport nearer the time.
- Cabanas. Sarah has talked about both a cabana on board for the sea day on September 25 and a cabana at the Bimini Beach Club. Both are extra cost, both are weather dependent, and both sell out. I will check sizes, prices and availability when the window opens and let the group decide.
- On board. The Dock on Deck 7 is my favorite spot to settle in. Say hello to the Happenings Cast. Some of the best moments on a Virgin ship are the ones nobody can book in advance.
The Key West bar card: exactly what it is
- One complimentary bar card per cabin. One card, per cabin, not per person. It is a buy-one-get-one drink card.
- The card is valid for one person only. It cannot be split between two Sailors.
- Additional cards are available at a discount if the second person in your cabin wants one.
- It is accepted only at participating locations in Key West, and those participating venues and their terms are set locally and can change.
- A signed waiver is required before the card can be redeemed. I will send it to you and collect it before you sail, so nobody is caught out on the day.

Questions people ask me
Do I have to book through you?
No, but Sarah would like everyone in one group so I can work the cabin locations and the dining requests together. It costs you nothing extra either way, since my commission is paid by Virgin out of their side of the fare, and booking with me adds $50 in Sailor Loot per cabin on any fare except Lock It In, plus one complimentary Key West buy-one-get-one drink card per cabin for one person, with discounted additional cards available and a signed waiver required.
Can I sail on my own?
Absolutely, and plenty of people do. Choose “Just me” and your booking link prices the cabin for one Sailor. If you would rather I quoted it, just ask. Solo Sailors are very much part of this group.
Can my cabin have three or four people?
Yes, in some cabin types. Choose the number on the form, or set it under the quick booking links. If the booking page will not take it for the cabin you want, email me and I will sort it out.
What about Base fare?
Virgin sells it, but I do not offer it on this sailing. It saves very little against Essential and gives up almost everything that protects you, so there is no situation here where it is the right answer. If you see it elsewhere and wonder, just ask me.
Do we all have to do the same thing every day?
Not at all. Dinners are the thing the group does together. The rest of your trip is yours. Some people will be at the beach, some at the spa, some asleep.
What about flights and hotels?
Sarah is staying in Miami the night before and a couple of nights after to celebrate her actual birthday. You are welcome to do the same. Do not book flights until your cruise is confirmed, then talk to me and I will help you line it up.
What do I actually need to give you?
To book: your legal name exactly as it appears on your passport, your date of birth, and contact details. I collect that through a secure form, one link per person, which expires. Never by email, and never by text.
Is a passport required?
For a round trip from Miami there are limited circumstances where other documentation can work, but a valid passport is strongly recommended and makes everything simpler. Check that yours is valid well beyond September 2027, and if you are unsure, ask me early rather than late.
